Design Build Fly
Student teams will design, fabricate, and demonstrate the flight capabilities of an unmanned, electric powered, radio controlled aircraft which can best meet the specified mission profile. The goal is a balanced design possessing good demonstrated flight handling qualities and practical and affordable manufacturing requirements while providing a high vehicle performance.
Aeronautics at UT Dallas
Present Design: The team is constructing a 5 foot wingspan turboprop, capable of holding a payload of 5kg and carry a 20 foot banner behind the plane.
Present Challenges: Performing higher-level design analysis, working with composite materials, implementing stability and control equations into our design.
Future: Obtaining a high score in the initial proposal will give the team a higher chance of success with sponsors. Creating flight-worthy aircraft by the end of November will prepare us for the report (Due February).
